Trustees’ Week 2013: get involved
It’s less than two weeks until Trustees’ Week on 4–10 November. This year we’re focusing on getting more charities involved, so read on to discover how you can take part.
Run by a group of sector bodies including the Charity Commission, NCVO, Institute of Fundraising, NUS and Small Charities Coalition, Trustees’ Week is an annual event to showcase the great work that trustees do and highlight opportunities for people from all walks of life to get involved and make a difference. ICAEW is supporting the Trustees’ Week campaign, now in its fourth year.
With research estimating that almost half of charities have at least one vacancy on their board and only 0.5% of trustees in England and Wales are aged between 18 and 24, the Trustees’ Week campaign aims to raise awareness of trusteeship, encourage more people to think about becoming a trustee, and give charities a chance to "thank" their existing trustees.
