ICAEW Diploma in IFRSs Deferrals Terms & Conditions.

Course deferrals

1. Course deferrals made in writing will only be allowed at the discretion of the Manager, CPD Courses, BPP Professional Education (The Manager) whose decision will be final. The following list is not exhaustive but gives an indication of some examples which may be deemed reasonable:
  • Certified illness
  • Work commitments with written confirmation from employer
  • Bereavement
  • Pregnancy.

(Note: Documentary evidence in support of the deferral application will be required in all cases.)

2. Course deferral applications must be made in writing using the Deferral Application form signed by the course participant.
3. A fee of £350 +VAT must be made with the Deferral Application and is non-refundable unless the application for deferral has been refused.
4. The deferral fee of £350 + VAT is the same regardless of the point at which the deferral is made but must not be later than the submission date for the second course assignment.
5. Deferrals can only be made for one course cycle. If the course participant cannot participate in the subsequent course cycle (for whatever reason) then he/she will be deemed to have cancelled the course. Upon cancellation any previous results will be voided.
6. A deferral must be confirmed in writing by Laura Sutton Managing Director – BPP Liverpool, BPP Professional Education, First Floor – Merchants Court, 2-12 Lord Street, Liverpool L2 1TS.
7.

If the applicant has been awarded marks for an assignment then:

7.1 - They must clearly state on the deferral application form if they wish the marks to be carried forward.

7.2 - If the candidate resubmits an assignment then the standard re-sit of £225 + VAT per resubmission will apply in addition to the deferral fee of £350 + VAT.

7.3 - In the event of a re-submission the final marks awarded for the assignment will be those awarded for the re-submission (ie this negates the marks for the initial assignment submission).

8. The written confirmation of the status of the deferral application (if successful) will specify at what point the course participant can recommence the course. Under normal circumstances this will be the same point in the course at which the candidate requested the deferral.
9. If the deferral application is successful the course participant will receive a set of course materials for the course cycle onto which he/she has been deferred.
10. If a participant has:

10.1 - not completed and passed all aspects of the course; and

10.2 - not submitted a deferral application at the end of a course cycle.

then they must register on the following course cycle, or they will be deemed to have cancelled the course. Upon cancellation any previous results will be voided.
