The ICAEW Members in New South Wales member group supports members in Australia and works to increase awareness of the ACA brand in Australia.
The aims of the group are to:
- represent the view of Australian members to ICAEW, other stakeholders and relevant bodies;
- represent ICAEW and the ACA members in the local business and wider community of New South Wales;
- reflect and support the aims, objectives and strategy of ICAEW; and
- organise and promote activities to achieve these objectives.

The social subcommittee arranges social events and activities that allow members and their guests to meet in an informal atmosphere.
Events include new member initiatives, alumni events and social and networking activities.

Nataliia Bakurova Senior Accountant, Civeo Pty Ltd.
Nataliia qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 2011 with PWC in Cyprus. She spent 7 years working in Practice in audit services before moving into industry in 2015. Nataliia moved to Sydney in 2013 and is currently a Senior Accountant at Civeo Pty Ltd.
Nikki Firth Director and Founder, Your Accounting Sanctuary Pty Ltd
Nikki has been working in the accountancy industry for 16 years, specialising in working with small and medium-sized businesses and giving tax advice to those businesses and individuals. Nikki moved to Australia from the UK and has worked in practice in Australia since the outset, during which time she became an Australian tax agent. Nikki also set up her own company at the end of 2016 and is now looking to turn accountancy on its head by adding more value and relationship to the client service.
Keith Pattison Committee Chair
Keith qualified with KPMG in London and transferred to Sydney in 1987. He has fulfilled a series of commercial roles since 1992 in the Investment Fund, FMCG, Construction, Entertainment, Mining and Industrial Industries and is currently CFO & Director Corporate Services for the RPC Group.
Mike Le Geyt Committee Member
Mike is a consultant with over 20 years’ financial services industry experience. His company, Risk On The Agenda, provides a range of risk management related services. In addition to being an FCA, Mike has also completed insurance, financial planning and company director courses and qualifications.
Susan Russell Committee Member
Susan qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 2010. She spent 7 years working in Practice across audit and business services before moving into industry in 2013. Susan moved to Sydney in 2011 and is currently COO of Work Club and OLLO Group. Outside of the office she loves travelling, going to the beach and developing her entrepreneurial side projects.
Richard Stokes Committee Member and Contact Member for NSW
Richard set up his own consultancy firm in 1989, Stokes Partners International. He is an external compliance committee member for various investments schemes, a compliance advisor to fund managers, and acts as a compliance officer to boutique fund managers. He presents training courses on unit trust operations for Kaplan Professional in Australia and in Asia.
Clare Bewsher Committee Member and Council Member for Oceania
Clare trained with Smith & Williamson before joining PwC's International Corporate Tax team. She is self-employed, enjoying a mix of contracting and tax consultancy. In June 2013, Clare was elected as ICAEW's first Council Member for Oceania.
Victoria Brown Committee Member
Victoria moved to Sydney in 2006. Since qualifying as a Chartered Accountant in 2005, Victoria has worked across both audit and industry, focusing on healthcare, education and retail services. She currently works in the commercial sector as a Group Reporting Manager for LFG.
Jennifer Chong Treasurer
Jennifer worked at Arthur Andersen and qualified as an Australian Chartered Accountant with PKF in Sydney. While working in London, she qualified with the ICAEW after completing UK conversion exams. She also holds a Diploma of Financial Planning and accreditation on Self Managed Superannuation Funds. Jennifer is on the events team and is welcome to any new ideas.
Diane Potter Committee Member
Diane qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1992. Soon after qualifying she moved to industry, having a number of finance roles in the UK before moving to Sydney in 2004. Diane is an experienced commercial finance professional with over 15 years working in the fast moving Global Telecoms sector. Her current role is as a Customer Business Controller, leading the financial & commercial support for a large customer focused sales, delivery & operational team.
Sara Lam Secretary
Sara has been responsible for providing finance services to large, complex engineering and ICT projects with multi-national corporations and government agencies in Australia, New Zealand and Asia Pacific. She specializes in implementing substantial business initiatives and operational improvements
Marie dCruz Committee Member
Marie is Payroll/HR Manager at Glencore Australia. She is an FCA experienced financial controller who has worked in blue chip commercial, not for profit and professional environments.
