Member support and networking

Association of Chartered Accountants in the United States (ACAUS)

The Association of Chartered Accountants in the US (ACAUS) is a non-profit, professional and educational organisation, representing the interests of chartered accountants in the US. It has a number of chapters in major finance centres across the US and communicates with its members mainly through its LinkedIn Group.

ACAUS organises business and social events in cities across the country. These include talks by prominent US business people, as well as networking and CPD events. The organisation is partly funded by ICAEW and our members are automatically eligible to join and attend.

Contact members

ICAEW has a network of contact members around the world. Our contact members in North America are your key points of contact for enquires and act as ambassadors in promoting ICAEW’s strategy and brand within our country.

The US representative on ICAEW Council is Mark Coles.

The Canada and the Caribbean representative on ICAEW Council is Richard Nunn.

Working in partnership

Through our involvement with the Global Accounting Alliance (GAA), ICAEW members in the United States and Canada can access a range of member services from AICPA and CPA Canada. These include CPD and networking events at AICPA and CPA Canada member rates. ICAEW members can also receive news and information by subscribing to their e-mail newsletters.

We also work with other international partners to promote good practice.

Join us as a member of another accountancy body

If you are a qualified member of another professional body, you could be eligible to join ICAEW. We offer various routes to membership, including reciprocal agreements, advanced credit arrangements, common content arrangements and our Pathways to Membership Programme.

Qualifications and programmes available in Oceania

The following ICAEW qualifications and programmes are available in North America.

The Corporate Finance (CF) qualification is recognised around the world and establishes a high level of expertise across international markets. It is designed with a focus on the commercial, practical and technical skills demanded by major corporate and financial clients and investors.

IFRSs learning and assessment programme

Our IFRSs learning and assessment programme (certificate) will give you a comprehensive overview of all current international standards in the private sector.

ISAs certificate programme

This online learning and assessment programme is your route to a better understanding of the clarified ISAs and the audit process. A firm grasp of the key principles of the clarified ISAs will give you the confidence to act decisively and respond effectively to clients’ and other stakeholder’s needs.

The ICAEW Certificate in Finance, Accounting and Business (ICAEW CFAB) is an internationally recognised certificate that teaches essential knowledge in business, finance, and accounting. ICAEW CFAB is a six-month qualification and it is open to everyone.

North America LinkedIn Group

The ICAEW members in North America group enables you to network, share information and discuss issues of professional interest with other members in North America.
