St James’s Place founder to join exclusive LSCA event at One Moorgate Place
Announcing Sir Mark Weinberg as guest speaker at this year’s post-AGM event on 25 June, London Society of Chartered Accountants (LSCA) Deputy President Nathan Steinberg shares his views on why it is important students and younger members feel connected to the LSCA and ICAEW.
As the incoming LSCA President for 2019/20, I believe it is important that all members have a strong connection with the institute. We are holding an evening social event in the member’s club at Chartered Accountants’ Hall after the LSCA AGM on 25 June for this reason, where members have the opportunity to see the premises and use its facilities.
This exclusive LSCA event will feature a short talk from Sir Mark Weinberg. Sir Mark is a South African born British financier. He founded three life assurance companies; Abbey Life, Allied Dunbar and St. James’s Place Wealth Management. Sir Mark is currently the president of St. James’s Place, which he co-founded with Mike Wilson and Lord Rothschild, and was the second fastest company to join the FTSE 100.
I believe students and younger members are the future of the profession and that’s why the LSCA committee has decided to host a networking event after its AGM on 25 June at Chartered Accountants’ Hall. This is a great opportunity for students, younger members and those further on in their careers to meet, and I would welcome everyone to attend and network over food and drinks.
