Hear about the Thames of the future
January 2017: With London already Europe’s biggest metropolitan consumer market in the world and continuing to grow, and the move to ever larger container ships in the Port, come and hear about the future for the River Thames.
Will it continue to be an industrial hub, a centre of population with the growth of high-rise blocks, or a focus for sport, recreation and leisure?
Katherine Riggs is Director of the Thames Vision at the Port of London Authority, the organisation responsible for navigational safety along the tidal Thames, sharing its marine, environmental, planning and other expertise to promote use of the river and safeguard its unique marine environment.
Katherine will talk about the pioneering Thames Vision, a 20-year framework for the 95 miles of tidal Thames from Teddington to the North Sea and set out the Vision’s goals and actions to develop the maritime economy, transport, leisure and amenity of the river and its banks.
The free lunchtime event will be held at the head offices of Metro Bank in Holborn on Thursday 9 February, 12:00 to 14:00. A sandwich lunch will be provided. Please note that these events are highly popular, places are limited and must be booked in advance. Book your free place now.
