BBH has a main committee and three operational committees.
BBH Management Committee
Responsible for the strategic vision of the Society, each year agrees a plan for the advancement of the services provided to BBH members. ICAEW Council Members Derek Blair, Nigel Hughes and Peter Tucker sit on this committee.
BBH Conference Committee
Organises and delivers the successful and comprehensive local CPD course programme.
BBH Publicity, Communication & Social Committee
Delivers communications to members using various local channels. These include a hardcopy newsletter, Live Wire, and organising the prestigious annual business dinner, evening discussion groups and other special interest groups such as our Retired Members’ Forum and all other social activities.
BBH Learning & Professional Development Committee
Aims to promote the ACA qualification using various local channels. These include:
- awarding scholarships and prizes to students at the University of Bedfordshire, University of Hertfordshire and local ACA students;
- supporting the ICAEW’s national BASE competition; and
- working with ICAEW’s Business Development Team to encourage firms and businesses to become Authorised Training Employers.
All of these committees are run by local volunteer members supported by the BBH Regional Executive. They each meet between three and five times per year.
