Wednesday 15th May 2019. The Liverpool Society of Chartered Accountants has a new President. Andrew Lovelady, has been appointed President for 2019/20, for what will be the 150th year of the Society. The occasion was marked at the AGM by a drinks reception and exhibition of the Society’s history at the Liverpool Central Library.

He takes the reins from Past President, Carol McLachlan, who led the Society during 2018/2019.
Andrew will support the Society’s members from across Merseyside, Cheshire & North Wales and the Isle of Man, which forms part of ICAEW (Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales).
His primary role will be to oversee the delivery of a range of services for members including a series of CPD courses, an annual dinner, a variety of technical and networking events and discussion groups as well as representing the interests of Chartered Accountants within the wider business community. In the Society’s 150th year a number of celebratory events are also planned including a Civic Service, Town Hall Reception and a series of lectures on the future of the local economy and business.
He will be supported in this role by Deputy President, Rob Young of SB&P and Vice President Justin Lang of Wood plc.
Andrew Lovelady, President of the Liverpool Society of Chartered Accountants, said: I am deeply honoured to have been asked to lead the Society in its 150th year and look forward to serving our Members and the wider business and local communities in this role. Whilst our members stand on the shoulders of those who have gone before it is vital that we acknowledge the contributions of the past but look forward to serving the communities of the present and future.
